LEGO Godzilla Roars to Victory: Third 2024 LEGO® Ideas Review Reveals Two New Sets (and a Maybe!)

The latest LEGO® Ideas review results are out, and oh boy, they delivered. After battling through a monstrous lineup of 53 submissions, LEGO Godzilla by MattE720 has emerged as the official next LEGO Ideas set. Yes, that’s right. Godzilla is coming. In bricks. Built for fans.

As someone who once tried to build a kaiju-sized tail out of spare slopes and failed miserably, this hits different. Just imagine the potential: Tokyo-style cityscapes, tiny microscale buildings, that iconic dorsal plate design. It’s a dream come true for Godzilla, LEGO collectors, AFOLs, and probably some mildly terrified minifigures.

And just when the smoke settled, boom—another hit. TINTIN – SPACE ROCKET by tkel86 has been greenlit. This one had been chilling in the infamous "Parking Lot," a limbo zone LEGO uses when a submission needs more time to cook. Seems like the wait paid off. For TinTin fans, this is long overdue. That red-and-white checkered rocket is one of the most recognizable designs in European comics, and now it’s going brick-built official.

Speaking of the Parking Lot, Camping Trip by terauma has just been dropped there. It’s not a no, but it’s not a yes either. Maybe the team’s trying to figure out if they can squeeze some marshmallow-roasting action into a neat set that doesn’t step on the toes of LEGO City or Friends themes. Either way, it’s on hold. For now.

Just a reminder though: what you see in the submissions isn’t always what you get on shelves. LEGO’s designers usually go in and make serious adjustments to fan designs to meet their standards and brick palette. So while LEGO Godzilla will surely stomp into stores, expect a few scale changes (and maybe less rubble).

Here’s a quick spotlight list from the review:

LEGO Godzilla by MattE720 – Approved!

TINTIN – SPACE ROCKET by tkel86 – Approved!

Camping Trip by terauma – In the Parking Lot, decision pending.

With all these sets joining the ever-growing queue of approved LEGO Ideas, it’s a good time to peek at the full lineup. We’ve got Red London Telephone Box, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Jaws still cooking. Honestly, 2025 is shaping up to be a pretty packed year for LEGO Ideas. And hey, if a brick-built Godzilla isn’t proof that LEGO Ideas is truly built for fans, then I don’t know what is.

Prices TBD, but expect them to align similarly to other mid-large scale LEGO Ideas sets (think €90–120 range).

Stay tuned for more reveals, and maybe dust off your own Ideas account. Apparently, even kaiju dreams can come true.
