BBC Ghosts Fans Celebrate as Set Enters LEGO® Ideas Review Phase

Welcome to Button House, or at least the brick-built version of it. After months of haunting the LEGO® Ideas platform, SJs Workshop’s BBC Ghosts project has finally reached 10,000 votes

Now it stands before the all-powerful LEGO® Review Board. If approved, we’ll see it materialize in stores around May-June 2026. Until then, fans can only hope the spirits of Button House are feeling generous.

The House That Ghosts Built

The set is a faithful reimagining of the BBC comedy Ghosts, that gloriously British blend of chaos, charm, and hauntingly awkward humor. In the show, a modern couple inherits a crumbling mansion, only to discover it’s already fully occupied by a cast of centuries-old ghosts who can’t move on (emotionally or physically).

The LEGO® version re-creates the show’s iconic dollhouse from the opening sequence. Instead of attempting a full-scale mansion (which would take an entire village’s worth of bricks), SJs Workshop smartly focused on an intricate cross-section of the home. The result? A modular piece that doubles as a display and a playset.

Every Room Has a Story

Each room in the LEGO® Button House is packed with detail. You’ll find recognizable corners from the show, a flickering fireplace, an antique writing desk, and those suspiciously period-accurate armchairs that probably harbor more secrets than comfort.

The walls are designed to clip on and off, so you can peek inside or stage your own paranormal sitcom. Among the residents are all nine ghosts, from the headless nobleman to the stern captain, plus Mike and Alison, the only living pair trying (and mostly failing) to coexist with their spectral tenants.

The set is peppered with easter eggs straight from the series: Dante the fox, a chess board, a book stand, and even a pesky pigeon. It’s the kind of detail work that shows a creator who not only watched the show but probably memorized it.

A British Comedy Goes Global

With the original BBC version charming audiences and a US adaptation gaining traction, the Ghosts phenomenon has crossed the Atlantic. That timing couldn’t be better for LEGO®. Fans are nostalgic, and the show’s humor is tailor-made for a family-friendly LEGO® set. It’s cozy chaos, exactly the kind of storytelling the brand loves to bottle.

If approved, this model could stand alongside LEGO® Haunted favorites like 31167 Haunted Mansion or 10273 Haunted House.

Haunting the Future of LEGO® Ideas

As LEGO® continues to explore TV-inspired sets, BBC Ghosts brings something fresh: not superheroes, not sci-fi, but heartfelt absurdity. It’s a slice of haunted domestic life that feels real, even in plastic.

Until the review board speaks, Button House waits. The ghosts are patient. They’ve got eternity.
