The final entry in LEGO®’s 2025 Wonders of the Natural World series has arrived, and it’s colder, darker, and way more magical than the rest. Say hello to 40785 Northern Lights Diorama, a Gift With Purchase you’ll probably want to budget for, because it drops mid-October and demands a hefty cart to secure it.

A Glow in the Dark Freebie
This isn’t your standard snowy scene. The diorama is a micro-scale winter landscape built from 332 pieces, anchored by LEGO®’s familiar black display base. There’s snow, rocks, and tall, thin trees, but the real star is the dark blue backdrop scattered with transparent elements that create the illusion of the aurora borealis. Add in a 1x1 round glow-in-the-dark tile as the moon, and suddenly you’ve got northern sky poetry built from bricks.

Spend 150, Get Aurora
The rules are clear. Starting 14 October 2025 (running until the 18th), spend at least 150 USD in LEGO® stores or online and the Northern Lights Diorama is yours. For European fans, that converts to roughly 142 EUR, 121 GBP, 229 AUD, 167 CAD, 1100 DKK, 1660 SEK, 630 PLN, and 865 BRL. Not cheap, but remember, this is LEGO®’s fourth and final nature diorama this year, so if you want the full set, the time is now.

Closing Out the Nature Series
This marks the end of LEGO®’s mini collection of natural wonders. We’ve had desert, jungle, savanna, and now the icy north. Each GWP leaned on unique colours, textured builds, and display-worthy bases, and this one might be the most atmospheric yet. The aurora is tricky to capture in plastic, but LEGO®’s use of translucent elements actually works surprisingly well.

Which Diorama Wins?
Now the debate begins. Is this your favourite of the four? Or do you prefer the warmer tones of the 40784 African Savanna Diorama? The Northern Lights has the advantage of being both seasonal and mysterious, which makes it a smart finale. At the very least, it’s a reason to check your wish list and decide which big set will push you over the spending threshold.
Auroras fade, LEGO® sets retire. The question is simple: will you chase this light?
