There’s a moment every LEGO® fan dreams of: walking into LEGO House, the ultimate brick-built wonderland, and seeing your own creation displayed among the world’s best. For 15 adult LEGO® fans (AFOLs), that dream is now a reality. Their custom LEGO® masterpieces are taking center stage in the Masterpiece Gallery, an annual exhibition that transforms LEGO House into a global showcase of creativity, skill, and sheer love for the brick.

A Gallery of Dreams and Details

This year’s Masterpiece Gallery is more than just an exhibition—it’s a celebration of global LEGO® talent. The selected builders hail from Australia, China, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, the UK, the USA, and Vietnam, bringing a rich mix of cultural influences and building styles.

"Every year, the Masterpiece Gallery proves that LEGO® building is an art form without limits," says Kathrine Kirk Muff, CEO of LEGO House. "The dedication and creativity in these builds are staggering. We hope every visitor leaves feeling inspired to create something of their own."

Victoria Worsley: Building Nostalgia with Belville

For Victoria Worsley from the UK, LEGO® has always been about storytelling and nostalgia. Her two contributions—a 1950s American diner and a detailed Belville house—are a love letter to the themes that defined her childhood.

"I grew up with LEGO® Belville, and those sets sparked my imagination," Victoria explains. "Now, as an AFOL, I want to show that LEGO® isn’t just for kids—it’s a medium for art, history, and personal expression." Her diner, with its retro charm, and her Belville house, filled with intricate details, are designed to inspire girls and women to pick up bricks and start building their own worlds.

"Seeing my work in LEGO House still feels like a dream," she admits. "I hope it encourages others to see LEGO® as a way to tell their stories, too."

Donny Chen: Dragons, Culture, and Creative Challenges

In Australia, Donny Chen blends his Chinese heritage with his love for LEGO®. His golden dragon, built from nearly 7,000 bricks, was created to celebrate the Year of the Dragon—but it’s more than just a model. "Every build is a puzzle," Donny says. "I love the challenge of figuring out how to bring an idea to life, especially when it means learning new techniques."

His dragon isn’t just a display piece; it’s a symbol of creativity and perseverance. "LEGO® gives me the freedom to experiment," he shares. "Whether it’s a dragon or a tiny sculpture, the process of building is what keeps me coming back."

Roldan Grace: The Young Visionary

At just 19 years old, Roldan Grace from the USA is the youngest exhibitor in this year’s gallery. But don’t let his age fool you—his 11,000-piece knight on horseback, complete with a parrot and a wandering house, is a masterclass in scale, detail, and imagination.

"I’ve been building since I was four," Roldan says. "LEGO® has always been my way of expressing myself. This knight is one of my most ambitious projects yet, and I’m thrilled to share it with the world."

His work proves that LEGO® building knows no age limits. Whether you’re a child or an adult, the bricks offer endless possibilities.

The AFOL Community: More Than Just a Hobby

The Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) community is growing faster than ever. In fact, nearly 25% of LEGO House visitors are adult fans—many of whom travel to Billund without kids, just to soak in the creativity and connect with fellow builders.

"LEGO® is more than a toy—it’s a way to relax, create, and connect," says Stuart Harris, LEGO House’s Master Builder and one of the judges for the gallery. "The AFOL community is full of people who see LEGO® as an art form, a challenge, and a way to meet like-minded creators."

The selection process for the Masterpiece Gallery is rigorous. Stuart and his team look for originality, technical skill, storytelling, and humor. "Every year, we’re amazed by the level of creativity," he admits. "Some builds are so innovative, I never would’ve thought they were possible!"

A Sold-Out Celebration

On September 26, 600 AFOLs from around the world gathered in Billund for an exclusive preview event. The day was packed with workshops, discussions, and the chance to meet the artists behind the builds.

"It was incredible to see so many passionate builders in one place," Stuart recalls. "The energy was electric—everyone was swapping ideas, admiring each other’s work, and geeking out over bricks. That’s what LEGO® is all about."

The event sold out within hours, a testament to the global passion for LEGO® building. For many, it was a rare chance to network, learn, and celebrate their shared love of the brick.

Why the Masterpiece Gallery Matters

The Masterpiece Gallery isn’t just about showcasing impressive builds—it’s about inspiring the next generation of builders. Whether you’re a seasoned AFOL or just starting out, the exhibition proves that LEGO® is for everyone.

"We want people to see these builds and think, ‘I could do that,’" Kathrine says. "LEGO® is about creativity, problem-solving, and fun. There’s no wrong way to build."

And for the 15 exhibitors, this is more than just a display—it’s a milestone in their LEGO® journey. "Being part of this gallery is an honor," Donny says. "But the real reward is knowing that my work might inspire someone else to start building."

What’s Next for AFOLs?

The Masterpiece Gallery runs for a full year, giving visitors plenty of time to explore, admire, and—most importantly—get inspired. For the AFOLs, the experience is just the beginning.

"I’m already planning my next build," Victoria laughs. "Once you start, you can’t stop. There’s always another idea waiting to be built."

As for LEGO House, the gallery is just one part of its mission to celebrate creativity in all its forms. "We’re built for fans," Kathrine says. "And we can’t wait to see what they build next."

So, whether you’re a longtime AFOL or a curious newcomer, the message is clear: grab some bricks and start creating. After all, the next masterpiece could be yours.
