The 1980s were a strange place. Big hair, big dreams, and kids who somehow found hidden pirate ships under their hometowns. Now, that same spirit has found its way into LEGO® form with the new LEGO® Ideas 21363 The Goonies. Released under the “If We Could Turn Back Time” contest.

Following the Gremlins - Gizmo set, this one’s the heavier hitter. Designed by Vaggelis Ntezes (known online as Delusion Brick), the set recreates scenes that every fan remembers: the Fratellis’ hideout, the trap-laden caves, and One-Eyed Willy’s treasure room. Even the Inferno pirate ship makes a sneaky appearance when you flip the model around.

Nostalgia in Minifigure Form
The minifigure lineup is full-on fan service. You get the full Goonies crew, Mikey, Chunk, Mouth, Data, Andy, and the rest, plus the Fratellis, Sloth, and yes, even One-Eyed Willy himself. Some new molds make their debut here, including Sloth’s pirate hat and Mama Fratelli’s beret.

What sets it apart is the sheer density of details. Data’s gadget belt, Mouth’s hairbrush, and that deleted octopus scene that’s become meme material among movie fans , it’s all there. There’s a skeleton organ that can trigger trapdoors and boulder drops if you “play” it wrong, keeping the sense of danger alive even in brick form.

It’s the same energy that made sets like LEGO® 21330 Home Alone instant classics: cinematic, playful, and loaded with inside jokes only real fans will catch.
From Fan Dream to Official Set
Delusion Brick’s original fan concept reached 10,000 votes through LEGO® Ideas, a platform where dreamers pitch builds and the community decides what’s worthy of becoming real. The final model went through the LEGO® design gauntlet to balance nostalgia with engineering. The outcome? A hybrid of playset and art piece that feels as cinematic as it looks.

Ntezes said it best: “Combining nostalgia, fantasy, and creativity, I wanted to build something that offered both playability and display value.” Mission accomplished.
