There’s no need to ring the servant bell for this announcement. The grand doors of Highclere Castle are opening in LEGO® brick form, as the Downton Abbey project by BRO3 has officially reached the 10,000 supporter milestone and been approved to become an official LEGO® Ideas set.
Submitted on March 14th, 2024, the design will now make its elegant debut on shelves next year, just in time to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the beloved television series.
A Brick Tribute to British Aristocracy
Set in the early 20th century, Downton Abbey follows the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their loyal servants at Highclere Castle, exploring love, loss, and the social upheaval that followed the sinking of the Titanic and the Great War.
From the dignified Lord Grantham and the formidable Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess, to the household staff led by Carson the butler and Mrs. Hughes, the show is a masterclass in upstairs-downstairs history. It’s a period drama of manners, modernity, and the slow crumble of Edwardian order, and now faithfully reimagined in the language of LEGO® bricks.
Building Highclere: Brick by Brick, Room by Room
BRO3’s model captures the architectural splendor of Highclere Castle with quite detail. The castle’s main entrance, corridors, and five primary rooms are designed with full interiors inspired by the 1920s aesthetic of the show. Builders will explore Lady Mary’s room, the dining hall, the cozy guest quarters, the servants’ hall, and a bustling kitchen that would make Mrs. Patmore beam with pride.
Up in the castle towers, Carson’s office sits ready for another day of duty, while five smaller empty rooms allow builders to imagine new Downton dramas. The rooms are packed with furniture builds, including ornate tables, lamps, clocks, and chairs that make the castle come alive in miniature.
BRO3 even included a heartfelt touch: Lady Mary’s bench, the spot where several of the series’ most tender conversations unfolded, with a heart-shaped, it’s a romantic nod to the emotional soul of Downton Abbey.
The Minifigure Guest List: Fifteen Icons of Downton
No Downton story would be complete without its unforgettable cast of characters, and BRO3’s creation features 15 unique LEGO® minifigures representing both the Crawley family and their devoted staff.

Violet Crawley (Dowager Countess), Robert and Cora Crawley, Lady Mary, Lady Edith, Isobel Crawley, Matthew Crawley, and Tom Branson.
The Servants:
Carson, Mrs. Hughes, Mr. Bates, Anna, Thomas Barrow, Mrs. Patmore, and Daisy.
Each character has a distinct role in the narrative, creating endless opportunities for stories to play. Builders can relive Lady Mary’s sharp wit, Violet’s legendary one-liners, or Carson’s measured dignity, all within the walls of this magnificent LEGO® castle.
