LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort just crowned its first Mini Mayor of Miniland London, and the winner is 13-year-old Skye Shepheard from Canterbury. Her prize? Seeing her dream of a greener, more sustainable London brought to life in LEGO® bricks. The competition, launched to celebrate the refresh of Miniland’s London cluster, challenged kids to reimagine the city’s skyline. Skye’s design stood out for its creativity and commitment to the environment, two passions she holds dear.

Her winning model, now a permanent fixture in Miniland London, took expert model makers 63 hours and 10,608 bricks to complete. It sits alongside refreshed icons like The Gherkin, City Hall, and The Cheesegrater. Skye’s inspiration was simple: “Not a lot of cities are green, so I wanted to use this opportunity to design the London of the future, which is greener and more sustainable than it is today.” Her vision is a reminder that even the youngest builders can spark change, one LEGO® brick at a time.
From Competition to Reality: A Model City
Skye’s design wasn’t just a flight of fancy. It was a thoughtful, detailed plan for a city that balances urban life with nature. Paula Laughton, Head Model Maker at LEGOLAND® Windsor, praised Skye’s work, saying, “We were blown away by the imagination and thought that went into this winning design. Her vision of a greener city was not only creative but also meaningful.” The model now takes pride of place in Miniland London, where guests can admire it until October.

This isn’t just a win for Skye. It’s a win for every kid who’s ever dreamed of seeing their LEGO® creations come to life. The competition proved that LEGO® building isn’t just about fun. It’s about imagining a better world and making it tangible, brick by brick.
