Tomáš Kašpařík, affectionately known in the LEGO community as Chairudo, has always retained the spirit of a child. This zest for fun and creativity drives his passion for LEGO, one that has blossomed into a full-fledged profession. Over the years, Chairudo’s handcrafted LEGO sculptures have consistently amazed audiences, and his latest masterpiece, a functional wooden-style roller coaster, raises the bar even higher.
This massive LEGO structure is a tribute to the real-life El Toro roller coaster located in Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, New Jersey. El Toro is renowned for its heart-stopping drop of 176 feet (53 meters) at a dramatic 76-degree angle, a record for wooden coasters in the U.S. Chairudo’s miniature replica, while smaller in stature, is equally awe-inspiring and manages to encapsulate the essence of the original ride.
Comprising nearly 90,000 LEGO bricks, Chairudo’s roller coaster stretches 6.5 meters (21 feet) in length, spans 1.2 meters (3.9 feet) in width, and stands 1.4 meters (4.5 feet) tall. This intricate model encompasses 26 meters (85 feet) of track, a scaled-down version of El Toro’s expansive 1,200 meters (3,937 feet) of thrilling rails and its towering 60-meter (196-foot) height.
Beyond just the coaster, Chairudo’s LEGO amusement park features other attractions, including a delightful “snail ride” and a rotating carousel, bringing an added layer of charm to his creation.
In a playful jest, Chairudo ponders, “Is there a better time to become a LEGO minifigure?” Given the chance, many of us would undoubtedly love to be miniaturized just to experience his LEGO roller coaster firsthand.
