The LEGO 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua GWP has officially been announced, following rumours about the set since last summer.
The small, free set will be included with purchases of 100 euros or more from the LEGO online shop and in-store from January 27 to February 9, 2023, or while supplies last.
Specific conditions for obtaining the set have not yet been released by LEGO, but it is expected that customers will need to purchase products from certain theme worlds.
The set pays homage to the Bionicle theme world, which was introduced as a LEGO Technic sub-theme in 2001.
It includes Tahu, the first Toa of Fire, in his iconic pose of surfing a stone over lava, and the Matoran Takua, who later becomes the Toa of Light.
Additionally, there is a simple replica of the stone legend. Unlike the original Bionicle sets, the figures in the LEGO 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua GWP are constructed using current bricks and feature Mixel joints for posing.
Both figures are also smaller compared to their original versions.
