The LEGO Group is creating a team to lead its venture into the metaverse through its new GAME organization.
This initiative is a result of the company’s parent company, KIRKBI, investing $1 billion in Fortnite developer Epic Games. The LEGO Group announced a partnership with Epic Games prior to the investment to make the metaverse a safer place for children.
The company is currently looking to fill three job openings on the GAME team: a Senior Portfolio Manager, a Senior Marketing Manager, and a Creative Lead.
These positions all involve responsibilities related to the metaverse, such as developing digital play experiences and physical products for the metaverse and promoting fun and cool features on the product team.
The specific details of the LEGO Group’s metaverse project are not yet known, but it is expected to be a significant and expansive project.
It may involve augmented and virtual reality experiences and could potentially be based on previous LEGO titles such as LEGO Worlds.
