The LEGO House team has unveiled a new set called 40504 A Minifigure Tribute, which pays tribute to the 45th anniversary of LEGO minifigures by bringing back LEGO Pirates. The set celebrates the iconic pirate Captain Redbeard, who is represented as a large-scale minifigure with a hook hand and peg leg. The minifigure is perched on a brown board that sits on a black base, similar to previous LEGO House exclusives.
40504 A Minifigure Tribute will only be available for purchase by visiting the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark, just like other previous LEGO House exclusives such as 40503 Dagny Holm – Master Builder and 40502 The Brick Moulding Machine. The set brings 1,041 pieces and will be available for purchase from the 1st of March at a retail price of 599kr, that €80 / $85 / £71.
The set includes a black hat with the ‘Jolly Roger’ emblem, epaulettes on the minifigure’s shoulders, and the character’s signature eyepatch and red beard, just like the original Captain Redbeard minifigure. The press release also states that the model comes with a LEGO House bracelet for the minifigure’s hook hand and a treasure map that contains a secret reference to the product’s designers.
