Participate in the new LEGO® Ideas Test Lab for the 45th Anniversary of the Minifigure

LEGO® Ideas Test Lab is returning for another exceptional round of ingenuity in partnership with Pick a Brick, and we’re excited to invite you to join in the fun!

In honor of the 45th anniversary of the LEGO Minifigure, you have the opportunity to use 150 to 200 elements to design customizable display stands for showcasing your Minifigures, utilizing a curated BrickLink Studio palette.

The display stands must meet the following criteria:

  • Consist of 150 to 200 elements
  • Incorporate customization, with the elements for customization included in your entry
  • Accommodate at least 4 Minifigures
  • Be compatible with both Minifigures and Minidolls

For additional rules and guidelines, visit the LEGO Ideas Test Lab page.

LEGO Ideas Test Lab, first launched in 2017 and revived in 2022, is an experimental platform where new features, functionalities, designs, and experiences intended for LEGO Ideas are tested.

Participants must be at least 18 years old. Legal restrictions prohibit residents of certain countries from participating. Eligible individuals will have access to the Test Lab platform.

Starting today, you can view the BrickLink Studio palette and begin building! Submissions will be accepted from May 9th to May 23rd, 2023. A public vote between May 25th and June 8th will assist the judging team in understanding the community’s preferences, with the judging process commencing on June 8th.

If your design is chosen, it will be available for purchase through the Pick and Build hub on LEGO.com. Selected users will receive $1,500 USD (pre-tax). You can also explore the winning designs from the first Pick a Brick pilot challenge, now available for purchase through the Pick a Brick Hub.

By default, your displayed nickname on LEGO Ideas Test Lab will be your auto-generated LEGO Account nickname (e.g., ArtisticRug090) or your updated LEGO Account nickname if you’ve recently changed it. Your LEGO Ideas username will not be shown on Test Lab unless you’ve updated to the new LEGO Account nickname.

To edit your nickname on LEGO Ideas Test Lab, update it in your LEGO Account, accessible via your profile on LEGO Ideas Test Lab. This nickname will be used across LEGO experiences, such as the regular LEGO Ideas platform.

To personalize your nickname, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your LEGO Account using this link.
  2. Click the Edit icon next to your avatar.
  3. Enter your preferred nickname in the field.
  4. Click Submit and wait a few seconds for your nickname to be approved.
