The classic 1991 version of the Addams Family house has successfully reached 10,000 supporters as a LEGO Ideas project, and now advances to the review stage.
Initially proposed on July 17, 2022, the Addams Family house project boasts an impressive five-story design, potentially including seven minifigures (or eight, considering the single minifigure hand in a box representing Thing). The fully furnished house features secret areas to explore, suits of armor, a piano beneath the staircase, and several of Morticia’s plants. Notably, this version of the Addams house is not based on the recent Wednesday TV series, which premiered in November 2022.
In the 1991 film, the house was never physically built; instead, a full-sized facade was used for exterior shots, which has since been demolished. Fans who have long desired an accurate model of the iconic Addams house’s interior and exterior are likely to find this project highly appealing.
LEGO Ideas fan creator Yang Yang estimates that if the LEGO Group approves the house as an official set, it would consist of 2,998 pieces. This figure aligns with the house’s scale in the film. Yang Yang noted that while designing the set, they aimed to “keep most of the details in the house as small as possible,” given its immense size in the movie.
