The LEGO® Group and Formula 1® just redefined what’s possible with plastic bricks. At the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, 10 life-sized, drivable LEGO® F1 cars, each representing a team on the grid, made their debut, piloted by the world’s top F1 drivers during the Driver’s Parade. This isn’t just a stunt; it’s a celebration of creativity, engineering, and the power of play.

From Bricks to the Track
Inspired by the LEGO® Speed Champions F1 sets, these 1:1 scale models are more than just replicas. Each car is made from almost 400,000 LEGO® bricks, tips the scales at 1,500 kg, and can reach speeds of 20 km/h. The attention to detail is staggering, from sponsor logos to authentic Pirelli racing tires, these builds capture the essence of real F1 machines.

This project marks several firsts for LEGO®:
- The first time the company has built multiple drivable, large-scale models simultaneously.
- The first time F1 drivers have taken the wheel of LEGO® cars at the same time.
Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer at the LEGO® Group, put it best:
“At LEGO®, we’re always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. This collaboration with Formula 1® and all 10 teams proves that with imagination and a LEGO® brick, anything is achievable.”
A Feat of Engineering and Creativity

Bringing these cars to life was no small task. A team of 26 designers, engineers, and builders spent 22,000 hours at the LEGO® factory in Kladno, Czech Republic, perfecting every curve, sponsor decal, and mechanical detail. The result? A fleet of fully functional LEGO® F1 cars that look—and drive—like the real deal.

Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1®, shared her excitement:
“As a sport built on innovation, seeing these LEGO® F1 cars on track is another thrilling first. Our partnership with LEGO® is all about bringing fun and creativity to race weekends, and this is just the beginning.”
What’s Next for the LEGO® F1 Cars?
After their Miami debut, all 10 cars will embark on a global tour, giving fans around the world a chance to see them up close at future F1 races and events. For updates on where they’ll appear next, check out LEGO.com/F1.

Why This Matters for Fans
This isn’t just about spectacle, it’s about inspiring the next generation. The LEGO® Speed Champions F1 sets, released last year, have already brought the thrill of F1 into homes. Now, with these life-sized models, the LEGO® Group and Formula 1® are making the sport more accessible and exciting for families everywhere.
