LEGO® Insiders is the official loyalty programme from LEGO®. It's free to join and lets you earn points every time you buy LEGO® sets or products directly from LEGO® — either on LEGO.com or in official LEGO® Stores. Points can then be redeemed for discounts on future purchases.

You earn points on qualifying purchases made directly from LEGO® (LEGO.com or LEGO® Stores). The number of points depends on the currency you pay in — the calculator above can help you figure out exactly what you'll earn. You can also earn bonus points through special promotions, completing your profile, writing reviews, and participating in LEGO® Insiders events.

No. Points are only earned on purchases made directly through LEGO® official channels: LEGO.com or physical LEGO® Stores. Purchases from third party retailers, even authorised ones, do not qualify.

Points can be redeemed for vouchers to spend on LEGO.com or in LEGO® Stores. As a rough guide, around 100 points is equivalent to approximately €0.10 in voucher value (the exact rate may vary). Points cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash.

Yes. LEGO® Insiders points expire after a period of inactivity. If you don't earn or redeem any points for 12 consecutive months, your points balance will expire. It's worth keeping an eye on your account if you don't buy LEGO® regularly.

The programme was previously called LEGO® VIP. It was rebranded as LEGO® Insiders in 2023. There are no membership tiers based on spend — all members earn points at the same rate and have access to the same benefits.

LEGO® allows you to add points from recent purchases by entering your order number into your Insiders account. There is usually a time limit for retroactive claims — check LEGO.com/Insiders for the current policy.

Points are tied to individual accounts and cannot be transferred between accounts or combined with another member's balance.

LEGO® sets its Insiders rates independently for each currency rather than linking them to a fixed exchange rate. This means the effective "value" of points can vary slightly depending on where you shop. The calculator above reflects the official rates published by LEGO®.

Points and vouchers expire on completely different clocks, which is where most people come unstuck. The moment you turn points into a discount voucher, you have 60 days to spend it. Redeem only when you know what you want to buy. Points that expire through account inactivity are gone for good under official policy, although some fans report that contacting LEGO® customer service and explaining the situation has resulted in a restoration or some form of goodwill. Treat that as a long shot, not a plan.

In the eurozone, a €99.99 LEGO® set earns around 750 points, and those 750 points convert to about €5 off a future order. That works out to roughly 5% back. In the US the published rate is 6.5 points per $1 with 100 points worth about $0.75, landing in the same neighbourhood. Your rate is set by the currency you are charged in, not the country you live in, so ordering from a different LEGO® storefront changes the maths.

On what you actually paid, after any discount comes off. Apply an Insiders discount and your points are calculated on the reduced total, not the original ticket price. Sale prices work the same way. It is a small detail that surprises people who expected to earn on the full value of the set.

The scanner is genuinely hard to find the first time. You need to be signed in and working through the Insiders area rather than reaching for your phone camera. Once you locate it, you line the code up inside the green brackets and the set number appears. If nothing happens, check the front page of the manual: plenty of sets from the past few years shipped without a QR code at all, and each code only works once per account.

Yes, as long as you had a LEGO® account at the time of purchase. Contact LEGO® customer service with your receipt or order details and ask them to add the points manually. The account has to have existed when you bought the set, so signing up afterwards to backdate a purchase will not work.

Buy in a LEGO® Store and the points land immediately. Order online or by phone and you wait for dispatch, because online orders only credit once the order ships and payment is taken. Pre-orders therefore sit pointless in your account for weeks, which alarms people who bought during a double points window. The points still count from the moment the order was placed.

Buying a gift card earns nothing and you cannot pay for one with points either. Pay for a LEGO® set using that gift card, though, and the purchase earns points as normal. Handy if someone gave you a card for your birthday.

No. Certified Stores are excluded from both earning and redeeming. This one matters enormously in Europe, where a large share of physical LEGO® shops are Certified Stores rather than LEGO® Brand Stores. On the store locator, a yellow flag marks a Certified Store, and your Insiders card does nothing there. Check the flag before you plan a points run.

No. One promotion code per order. Redeem three 100 point rewards and you will need three separate orders to use them, each with its own shipping threshold to clear. Fans complain about this every time a batch of low-cost rewards drops. Plan your redemptions around orders you were already going to place.

You can apply them directly in the cart now. Since late 2024, the checkout page shows your points balance and its cash value with a button to use them there and then. A slider lets you choose the amount in single currency unit increments, starting at a minimum of 5. Plenty of long-time members still go through the old voucher route out of habit and lose flexibility by doing it.

LEGO® runs several a year, typically announced by email a few days ahead. Recent windows landed in late January 2026, around May the 4th for Star Wars, and from 19 to 29 June 2026. LEGO® also builds events around Insiders Weekend, Insiders Days and the Black Friday period. Nothing is confirmed until the email arrives, so treat rumoured dates as rumours.

Pre-orders have qualified in recent events, alongside gift-with-purchase offers. One quirk: the cart sometimes displays the single points figure during an event even though the order still earns double once it ships.

Yes, at a straight 1:1 rate. When LEGO® renamed VIP to Insiders, every point transferred across at the same value with nothing lost, whether you had 100 or 10,000. Membership is still free, early access and member gift-with-purchase offers carried over, and returning fans need do nothing to claim an old balance beyond signing in.
