Grab your fedora and dust off your dynamite, because Adventurers may be sailing back down the Nile. A fan project called Adventurers - Return to Egypt, built by Krackenator4, has reached the full 10,000 supporters on LEGO® Ideas. Johnny Thunder fans, this one is for you.

The theme ran from 1998 to 2003, sending explorer Johnny Thunder chasing lost artifacts around the globe (and dodging the villainous Baron Von Barron at every turn). This new build reunites the whole crew: Johnny, Dr. Kilroy, Pippin Reed, and Harry Cane race Baron Von Barron and Sam Sinister to a temple hiding a golden staff and a red ruby. Combine those two pieces and mysterious powers unlock. No pressure, then.

Here is where the construction really shines. The model packs 3,000 bricks into a temple modeled on the real Temple of Edfu, with nods to the classic 1998 set Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins (5988). It measures roughly 17 by 17 inches when closed and stands 9.5 inches tall, and the back swings open for easy access to seven themed rooms inside. Who knew ancient Egypt could fold up so neatly for storage?

Explore each chamber and you will find serious play value: a scroll room, a hoard-stuffed treasure room, a Pharaoh's tomb, a trap floor that drops you into a spike-and-snake pit, a crocodile mummy room, and the staff room itself. The set counts 9 minifigures (including a skeleton and an Anubis statue), plus a plane, a truck, crates, tools, dynamite, and an old-fashioned camera to film every discovery. Which room would you dare to open first?

With 10,000 supporters reached, Krackenator4 has cleared the finish line, and the project now heads into LEGO® Ideas review. Whether the design team gives Johnny Thunder the green light or not, Adventurers - Return to Egypt proves the old theme still has plenty of treasure hunters cheering it on.
