A LEGO® windmill that actually spins, a house filled with tiny stories, and two couples enjoying the perfect spring picnic. That is exactly what BOI_Design has created with the Windmill House, a Norwegian-inspired retreat that celebrates both sustainable living and the Danish concept of hygge. With 10,000 supporters already behind it, this brilliant project has sailed into the LEGO® Ideas review phase.

The Windmill House builds big at 3,960 pieces, delivering a three-story home where the windmill blades actually rotate (either by hand or gentle breeze). Every facade panel opens to reveal the interior magic, from a cozy living room with fireplace on the ground floor to a creative LEGO® building space up top. The base surrounding the windmill tells its own story with a lush tree, parked car, flower garden, and that perfect picnic scene featuring David, Tiffany, Kitty, and Lucas enjoying Norwegian treats like Skolebrød.
Inspired by Copenhagen's Kastellet windmill, BOI_Design collaborated with KittyJW to craft this sustainable architecture showcase. The design perfectly balances historic windmill charm with modern glass panels and functional living spaces. Each level serves a purpose: living and dining below, sleeping and studying in the middle, and a creative zone at the top where our brick-loving characters can build together (which happens to be the designers' favorite area too).
This awesome project celebrates National Windmill Day while championing renewable energy through imaginative storytelling. Will this wind-powered wonder spin its way into your collection? The LEGO® Group now holds the key to bringing this fantastic fusion of heritage and sustainability to builders worldwide.
