Studio Ghibli magic was almost heading to your brick collection. My Neighbor Totoro - The Catbus by PoisonBricks captured hearts faster than you could say "Totoro" and gathered the full 10,000 supporters needed for LEGO® review. Sadly, the project received a rejection from LEGO® after its official evaluation, but this brilliant tribute to Hayao Miyazaki's masterpiece deserves celebration for its clever design and devoted fanbase.

The Catbus itself steals the show with posable legs, head, and tail that bring the magical creature to life. The removable roof lets you place minifigures inside for adventures through the forest, while printed details on the mouse headlights and destination board add that perfect Studio Ghibli authenticity. PoisonBricks used robust ball joint connections to ensure this model works beautifully for both display and play (because who could resist making that Catbus zoom around the room?).

The scene comes complete with the iconic bus stop where Totoro, Mei, and Satsuki wait with their umbrella and Totoro's trusty leaf. Cute Soot Sprite elements scatter around the sidewalk build, while foliage adds natural charm to the whole display. River (Ideas ID snommmmm) collaborated on the graphic design elements for printed bricks and minifigure parts, proving that teamwork makes the LEGO® dream work.

Though LEGO® ultimately passed on this project during their review process, PoisonBricks created something truly special that resonated with 10,000 supporters and 83 passionate comments. The love for Studio Ghibli runs deep in the LEGO® community, and this fantastic Catbus showed just how much builders crave those magical moments from our favorite animated films. Sometimes the most awesome projects live on in our imaginations, inspiring future builders to keep dreaming big.
