Smile and wave, builders. The most secretly militarized birds in animation have marched onto LEGO® Ideas, and they mean business. Designer Jacker76 has brick-built the entire commando squad from the Penguins of Madagascar films, and this fan project already sits at 3,257 supporters. Skipper would call that a solid tactical position.
The Penguins of Madagascar display packs in all four members of the team. Skipper the stern leader, Kowalski the calculating brains (binoculars included, naturally), Rico the chaotic explosives expert, and Private, the soft-hearted rookie. Each penguin uses roughly 250 pieces and stands a proud 20 cm tall, adding up to 1,300 pieces across the full set. That is a lot of tuxedoed plastic.
Here is where the building gets genuinely clever. Every penguin can swivel its head and reposition its wings, so you can pose the squad mid-strategy, mid-salute, or mid-panic. Want them all staring suspiciously at the same spot? Go for it. Prefer Rico frozen in a wild flap? Your call, because there is no single right way to arrange these birds. They sit on a base printed with each character's name, so nobody forgets who is who during a covert operation.
Why did Jacker76 build them? Pure love for the animated Madagascar spin-offs. The designer notes that the eyes currently use existing stickers from the Studio software, though custom-printed eyes could capture those signature deadpan stares even better. Fair point, Skipper.
The project needs to reach the full 10,000 supporters to land in front of the LEGO® review board. If you have ever wanted a squad of secret-agent penguins guarding your shelf (and honestly, who has not?), a vote costs nothing but a click. Ready to give these fine feathered operatives your support?
