Trust no one, but definitely trust this build. The X-Files: The Truth Is Out There didn't just land on LEGO® Ideas, it won the whole contest, and now it's a real, boxed, sitting-on-your-shelf set. Designer WetWired packed one of the 90s biggest TV phenomenons into roughly 2,020 pieces, and special agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are back on the case.
The vignette splits into two scenes that any fan will recognise in a heartbeat. Up top sits a forest UFO encounter, all glowing craft and shadowy trees. Below it? A tiny recreation of Mulder's legendary basement office, complete with the famous "I Want To Believe" poster on the wall. (Yes, the poster is here in brick form, and yes, it will make you grin.) Stacking a spooky night sky above a cramped government office is a genuinely clever way to tell two chapters of one story in a single display.
Then there are the minifigures, and what a lineup it is. Alongside Mulder and Scully, you get a "Grey" Alien, The Jersey Devil, Assistant Director Walter Skinner, the Syndicate Leader, and the delightfully unsettling Eugene Tooms. That is a roster stuffed with references and in-jokes across all 11 seasons, and every one gives you a reason to lean in closer.
Designer WetWired built the whole thing as a love letter to a show that ran for two films, countless comics, video games, and more. It sailed through the fan vote, cleared the LEGO® review, and made it all the way to an official release — proof that sometimes the believers really do get their way.
