How do you fit an entire mountain range into your living room? Builder terauma has an answer, and it involves 1,917 pieces, a snowy summit, and four little adventurers with very different weekend plans. The project is called Mountain Hiking, and it just passed 2,739 supporters on LEGO® Ideas.

Here is the clever bit that makes this build sing. The scene starts big on the left and gradually shrinks as your eye travels up the slope, so minifigure scale and micro-scale live happily side by side. That forced-perspective trick tricks your brain into seeing a towering peak, even though the whole thing sits on a display base. Real mountains often look blue in the distance because of the air between you and the summit, and terauma recreates that hazy effect by mixing sand-blue bricks into the rock. Clever, right?

There is plenty to explore along the trail. A lodge waits at the foot of the mountain for anyone fancying a lazy vacation, a campsite sits halfway up for the more ambitious, and the summit rewards the truly determined climbers. Waterfalls tumble down, a lake glints below, and four nature-loving minifigures set off with their own goals in mind. Which one would you be, the summit chaser or the cosy lodge dweller?

The back of the model is flat, which makes it a tidy display piece on any shelf. Here is the part I love most: place two of these sets back to back and you build one enormous double-sided peak. Terauma built and rendered the whole thing in Stud.io, and the attention to scale shows real thought about how to make a small footprint feel vast.

If a snow-capped mountain sounds like the perfect companion for your rainy-day building sessions, hike over to the LEGO® Ideas page and lend Mountain Hiking your support. Every vote climbs a little closer to the 10,000-supporter summit. Ready to reach new heights?
