Ever wanted to smuggle an army into a walled city using nothing but a giant wooden horse? The Greeks did it first, and now builder Jucherz has recreated the whole legendary trick in LEGO® form. Greek Mythology: The Siege of Troy packs 2,104 pieces, nine minifigures, and one very sneaky horse into a scene straight out of ancient legend.

The star of the show is that horse, of course. Jucherz built it to look like heavy, handmade timber, with big wheels, layered planks, and a wonderfully rough finish (getting that weathered wooden look from smooth plastic bricks takes real skill). Best of all, it opens up so Greek soldiers can climb inside, and the base hides a secret weapons compartment. Can your enemies resist wheeling such a curious gift through their gates?

Facing off against the horse stands the Gates of Troy, a defensive wall bristling with columns, battlements, ladders, shields, spears, torches, and flags. The two builds together capture the exact moment the Trojans meet their mysterious wooden visitor. Then things get divine. Poseidon rides in from the sea on a golden chariot pulled by hippocamps (mythical sea horses, in case your Greek is rusty), shaking the ground as he charges toward the battle.

The minifigure line-up gives you both sides of the war: Achilles, Paris, Helen of Troy, a Greek soldier, and a Trojan soldier fight below, while the gods Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, and Ares take sides from above. There are creatures too, including Athena's owl, Ares's battle dog, and Poseidon's two chariot-pulling hippocamps. You decide who wins, because there is no single right way to stage a siege.

The Greek Mythology: The Siege of Troy project has gathered 2,141 supporters on its climb toward the 10,000 needed for review, and the comments are already buzzing. If a legendary horse, four squabbling gods, and a city under siege sound like your kind of adventure, head over and lend Jucherz your vote. Who knew a plastic horse could carry so much history?
