Once upon a brick, a storybook came to life. The Tale of Peter Rabbit is a fresh LEGO® Ideas project from builder Kez_Bricks, and it turns Beatrix Potter's 120-year-old classic into a giant brick-built book you can actually open. Curious what falls out when you crack the cover? Let's just say Mr. McGregor's garden will never be the same.

Built from roughly 3,660 pieces, this model recreates the famous book cover and swings open from both the front and back. Inside, you get layered micro-scale scenes pulled straight from Potter's original illustrations, packed with hidden details and Easter eggs that reward a closer look. It's the kind of clever layering that makes you tilt your head, spot something new, and grin like you've just found a secret carrot patch.

The play features are where things get properly delicious. A hidden light brick makes Peter glow on the front cover, an articulated Peter Rabbit figure poses however you like, and a sliding sieve mechanism recreates that heart-pounding garden chase. There's even a burrow escape feature so Peter can scurry safely home (no jacket left behind this time). Six minifigures come along too: Peter Rabbit, Mrs. Rabbit, Mr. and Mrs. McGregor, plus Beatrix Potter herself and her publisher Norman Warne.

Around the back, tribute scenes celebrate Potter's own life, from her beloved Hill Top farm to the Lake District landscapes that shaped every page she wrote. Kez_Bricks built this as a love note to childhood reading, and it shows in every tiny scene.

Right now The Tale of Peter Rabbit has gathered 1,094 supporters on its climb toward the 10,000 needed to reach the review stage. If a brick-built storybook full of hidden mechanisms sounds like your kind of bedtime story, hop on over and add your vote. Who says you can't judge a book by its cover, especially when the cover lights up?
