Today marks the 65th anniversary of the patent for the LEGO brick in Denmark, and to celebrate, LEGO is recognizing LEGO Brick Patent Day.
Patent published for the LEGO Brick by Godtfred Kirk Christiansen
Without this patent, the beloved hobby of building with LEGO bricks would not exist. The Danish patent was the first filed, with applications in other countries following shortly after.
The LEGO Rewards Center still has limited edition patent prints available for purchase, costing 650 points each. It should be noted that these prints were sold at a lower cost of 150 points last year.
