Blast Off for Points: 40789 Flying Moon Car Joins LEGO® Insiders Rewards This July

Another LEGO® Insiders Reward is landing soon, and it's got wheels, space helmets, and just a hint of retro weirdness. Joining the quirky charm of 40788 Friendly Snails, LEGO Ideas has now revealed 40789 Flying Moon Car, available from 1 July 2025 for 2,500 Insider Points.

This 211-piece reward is the cosmic creation of fan builder EnchantingNoodle, whose “Vehicle: Moon Car” entry won the ‘Exploring the Cosmos’ Ideas challenge. And now, that funky moon ride is real. In brick form. Built for fans.

The Moon Car hovers jauntily above a crater-pocked lunar base, where a lonely lamppost and a directional arrow point our brave minifigures… somewhere. No clue where, honestly. Maybe to the Moon Mart? The whole setup is more cute than cool, there’s a sense of isolation, but also joy. A bit like playing LEGO® alone as a kid, totally immersed.

You get two space explorer minifigs in the box, kitted out in modern LEGO® City spacesuits. They’ve got big bubble helmets and, hilariously, no hair, making them look like bald goldfish pilots. Weird, sure. But oddly loveable. There's a toy-shelf innocence to them that fits the set’s retrofuturistic vibes.
