There’s something magical about standing in front of a Vincent Van Gogh painting. The swirling colors, the thick brushstrokes, the way the light seems to pulse right off the canvas. Now, imagine recreating that magic—not with paint, but with LEGO® bricks. The LEGO® Art 31215 Vincent Van Gogh Sunflowers set does just that, transforming one of the most famous paintings in history into a 3D, buildable masterpiece.

A Collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum

This isn’t just another LEGO® set. It’s the result of a close partnership with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, ensuring every detail—from the three shades of yellow to the textured impasto effect—stays true to the original. The set even includes a printed tile with Van Gogh’s signature and a hanger, so you can display it like the real thing.

LEGO® set designer Stijn Oom called this project a “dream come true,” and it’s easy to see why. Translating Van Gogh’s asymmetrical yet balanced composition into LEGO® form was no small feat. The team studied the painting up close, even borrowing a replica from the museum to perfect the design. The result? A 2,615-piece homage that captures the light, shadow, and movement of the original.

More Than Just a Set

To celebrate the launch, LEGO® is going all out. On March 1, 2025, two life-sized brick replicas of Sunflowers will be unveiled at the LEGO® Store Amsterdam and the Van Gogh Museum. If you’re in Amsterdam or Marseille, you can even meet Stijn Oom and get your set signed on March 1 and 2.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. From June to August 2025, the Van Gogh Museum will host a brick-built LEGO® installation, which will later move to LEGO® House Billund and LEGO® World Utrecht.
