Imagine a world where kids call the shots. School would start at noon, dessert would be a food group, and every day would be packed with LEGO® bricks, music, and nonstop fun. Well, LEGOLAND® is making part of that dream a reality with the world’s first LEGO Festival, kicking off May 3, 2025.
For seven weekends, LEGOLAND Billund, along with parks in California, Germany, Florida, Korea, New York, and England, will transform into a vibrant playground of creativity, movement, and brick-built joy. Because if there’s one thing LEGO® knows, it’s that play isn’t just fun. It’s essential.
A Festival Designed by Kids (In Spirit)
Joan Lykke Hansen, Director of Park Operations at LEGOLAND Billund, puts it best: “This is going to be an extraordinary experience. Kids will meet new LEGO characters, dance to live music, and dive into activities that remind us all why play matters.” And let’s be honest, adults need that reminder just as much as kids do.
David Buxbaum, Senior Vice President of LEGO Brand Parks & Experiences, adds, “Play is at the heart of every child’s happiness and growth. The LEGO Festival is our way of bringing families together to celebrate that through building, gaming, and yes, a lot of dancing.”
Five Zones, Endless Fun
The festival isn’t just one big party, it’s five. Each zone offers a different way to play, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
1. Music Zone
Rock out with a LEGO® Minifigure band playing live pop and rock. Because nothing says “family bonding” like air guitar battles with a plastic guitarist.
2. Chill Out Zone
Need a break? This is the spot to recharge, relax, and maybe plot your next LEGO® masterpiece.
3. Gaming Zone
Video games meet real-life action. Jump, race, and compete in interactive challenges that blur the line between screen and reality.
4. Creativity Zone
Here, Master Model Builders guide you through epic LEGO® builds. Whether you’re a beginner or a brick pro, you’ll leave with something you’re proud of.
5. Dance Zone
Meet DJ Good Vibes, the newest LEGO character, and let loose on the dance floor. Warning: spontaneous dance-offs may occur.
Why This Festival Matters
The LEGO Festival isn’t just about entertainment. It’s a global invitation to prioritize play, to step away from screens, and to create memories, one brick, one dance move, one game at a time.
And timing couldn’t be better. The festival leads right up to International Day of Play on June 11, a perfect warm-up for a day dedicated to the power of play.
