Ever wanted to knock on the door between two worlds? Builder ShockedBricks has recreated the Pink Palace Apartments from Coraline, and the project just hit the full 10,000 supporters on LEGO® Ideas. That means the Victorian-style haunt from Henry Selick's stop-motion classic now sits in front of the review team, waiting to learn its fate. Fingers, and maybe button eyes, crossed.

The Pink Palace Apartments is a modular affair, so each floor lifts away for easy viewing and transport (just like the official modular buildings you may already have on your shelf). Inside you get six rooms from the Other World, including the Kitchen, Living Room, Coraline's Bedroom, Bobinsky's Circus, the Theatre, and the Other Father's Study. Peek closely and the small builds steal the show. There's a beetle dresser, snow globes made from 1x1 swirl elements, and a piano with movable arms and an open lid.

The designer really flexes those building muscles across the model. The kitchen uses a pile of 1x1 modified bricks and jumper plates to fake drawers and cabinets, while the theatre lines up black 1x1 cheese slopes to play double duty as both chairs and tiny Scottish terriers. SNOT tiling adds panel detailing to the exterior walls, and a wraparound porch trimmed with wavy plant stems nails that spooky Victorian charm. How many button-eyed puppets can one house hold?

Quite a few, as it turns out. The lineup includes minifigures of Coraline, the Other Mother in her spidery polka dots, the Other Father in his robe and simplified monkey slippers, a sad Wybie in his striped coat, and the Other Bobinsky in full circus ringmaster getup. A certain sly black cat slinks around the outdoor renders too. Everyone except our brave Coraline sports a pair of those famous button eyes.
Here's the sweet part. ShockedBricks first built the Pink Palace as a gift for a girlfriend who adores the film, then shared it with the world. With 10,000 supporters and 378 comments already logged, the community clearly agrees the house is a character all its own. Will the door between worlds swing open for real? We'll be watching the review with buttons on.
