Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates

Mind the Brick decided it could also be a box of LEGO® bricks. The Forrest Gump, Suitcase of Memories project transforms the movie’s tender opening into a buildable scene. Inside the compact set sits Forrest himself on the park bench, chocolates in hand, suitcase by his side.

Then the magic happens. The suitcase opens to reveal a miniature museum of Forrest’s adventures, his Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. cap, the ping-pong paddle, and a few other tiny Easter eggs that make fans of the movie happy.

LEGO® Forrest Gump: Life in a Brick Box

What makes this project stand out is its restraint. It doesn’t chase action scenes or grand architecture. Instead, it captures a pause, a man, the story, a life retold through bricks. The suitcase design even works as a keepsake box, perfect for your LEGOLAND ticket, or if you’re lucky, a brick signed by Tom Hanks.

If LEGO approves it, we could see this thoughtful build on shelves by mid-2026. Until then, like Forrest himself, we’ll just keep waiting on that park bench, maybe with a few chocolates, and definitely a few bricks.
