The bell has rung, the household is assembled, and LEGO® Ideas 21373 Downton Abbey is officially real. Brickset's listing confirms 4,711 pieces, priced at €299.99, $349.99 and £269.99, with a release date of 1 October 2026, matching the rumour we reported last week almost to the brick.
That makes it one of the largest LEGO® Ideas sets ever produced (the Botanical Garden felt enormous at 3,792). You are about to build Highclere Castle on your dining table, and yes, you will need a bigger dining table.
The fan project that started all this came from Sebastian Veselka, who builds as BRO3. His model gave the castle three decorated floors, a grand entrance hall, five main rooms and six smaller ones, so the drawing room where the Crawleys trade barbs sits directly above the kitchen where Mrs Patmore trades threats with a soufflé.
He worked more than 200 stone pieces into the facade to stop the walls reading as one flat sheet of tan, and anyone who has tried to make a big wall look like more than a rectangle knows the patience that takes. His version used around 2,750 pieces. The official set nearly doubles that, which tells you the LEGO® design team did not simply tidy up the submission and ship it.
Veselka's project included 15 minifigures plus Pharaoh the dog, and Blocks Magazine noted that the official lineup may differ, so treat any roster you see online as a rumour until the box art lands. What we do know: the show handed designers a cast that practically demands minifigure treatment, from Carson's stiff collar to the Dowager Countess and her cane. Which character would you build first? (My money is on whoever gets a printed hat.)
The road here was long. Veselka submitted the project on 14 March 2024, passed 10,000 supporters that August, then waited in the review Parking Lot until 30 October 2025, when LEGO® announced the biggest approval batch in LEGO® Ideas history and Downton Abbey walked out with the green light alongside E.T. and a Power Rangers Megazord. So, will you display it with the facade closed, all stately and silent, or pop it open and let the whole household get on with the drama? There is no butler to tell you the correct way. Pick the room you love most and start snapping.
