The two giant metal faces staring across an English field are back, this time in brick form. Pink Floyd - The Division Bell is a LEGO® Ideas project by builder Facoris, recreating the unmistakable cover art from the band's 1994 album. It counts 608 pieces and stands a generous 32 x 11.5 x 28.5 centimetres. Not bad for a first-ever submission!

Here is where the clever bit lands. Rather than flatten the whole scene into a 2D picture, Facoris lifted the two statues off the background and added a proper floor beneath them, giving the artwork real depth while keeping the rest gloriously flat. (Ever tried making a sculpture look both 2D and 3D at once? It is trickier than it sounds.) The statues' eyes and the little plaque use custom prints, and the model captures the spirit of the original cover rather than chasing every exact proportion.

Then there are the minifigures. You get the members of Pink Floyd, of course, plus Syd Barrett, whom the builder felt could not be left out even though he had long departed the band. Gilmour's guitar even sports a custom print designed specifically for the set, and Facoris has floated the idea of custom torsos too if fans clamour for them.

The project began as a personal passion piece with no plans to share it, which makes the whole thing feel wonderfully genuine. With 1,017 supporters already backing Pink Floyd - The Division Bell, it has a long climb toward 10,000, but every great build starts somewhere.
