Ready for a weekend in the fjords? Bryan92609 has designed a LEGO® Cessna 185 Skywagon that hit the full 10,000 supporters on LEGO® Ideas, and it comes stocked for adventure right down to a mandatory teddy bear. The real Cessna 185 rolled off production lines between 1961 and 1985, and pilots still call it one of the ultimate bush planes. Many of the 4,400 built are flying today, which makes this a fitting subject for a brick tribute.

The Cessna 185 Skywagon uses 2,248 pieces and stretches an impressive 61.9 cm long with a 57.9 cm wingspan. What really makes a builder's heart soar? Every main flight control actually works. You can move the wing flaps and ailerons, and the tail rudder connects straight to the cockpit pedals while the elevators link to the control stick. That is a genuinely clever bit of engineering packed inside a plastic fuselage (and yes, we love that it moves).

The floats steal the show. Front wheels deploy for land operation and tuck away for water landings, and the rear water rudders swivel and retract. Panels open up too, so you can pop the nose to reveal the two-cylinder engine block or crack the rear trunk from either side to stash gear. There is even a little pier section, because your Cessna needs somewhere to dock.

Bryan92609 thought of everything a bush pilot might pack: a first aid kit, camping backpack, canteen, flashlight, map, camping stove, and that all-important teddy bear. Would you fly to the Northern Canadian Territories or the cold Scandinavian fjords first? The model works as a fantastic way to explain control surfaces and flight physics to curious young builders.

The Cessna 185 Skywagon has reached its 10,000 supporters and now sits in the LEGO® review phase, so we wait to see whether it earns its wings as a real set. Fingers crossed this one gets clearance for takeoff!
