Pirate life just got more inclusive and exciting. When LEGOLAND® Billund opens its gates on April 5, 2025, a brand-new pirate playground will be waiting, and it’s built for fans of all ages and abilities.
A Ship for Every Swashbuckler

The centerpiece? A massive 21.5-meter pirate ship, towering with an 11.5-meter mast. Three decks of cannons, climbing nets, and slides await, and yes, wheelchair users can climb aboard, too.
“We wanted a playground where every child can join the adventure,” says Michael Ottesen, Director of LEGOLAND Billund. Inspired by classic LEGO® pirate sets like The Brick Bounty, this ship is accessibility meets imagination.
King Crab’s Island
For the littlest pirates, King Crab’s Island offers gentler climbs, slides, and play areas—perfect for tiny hands and big dreams.

Obstacle Courses & Building Zones
Older kids (and kids at heart) can test their skills on challenging obstacles or get creative at LEGO® brick building stations.
Meet Captain Redbeard
Say hello to the park’s newest rogue: Captain Redbeard, a bloodthirsty pirate always on the hunt for treasure. He’ll be ready for photos, high-fives, and mischief from day one.

But Wait, There’s More!
The fun doesn’t stop at the playground. LEGOLAND® is also debuting:
- A fresh Aarhus section in Miniland
- A new LEGO Store where you can build your own minifigure
Why This Matters
This isn’t just another playground. It’s a statement: adventure should be for everyone. Whether you’re scaling the crow’s nest, firing imaginary cannons, or just soaking in the atmosphere, LEGOLAND® made sure no one gets left ashore.
So grab your eye patch, round up your crew, and set sail for April 5, 2025. The pirate life is calling, and this time, everyone’s invited.
