The Asterix & Obelix Village project from BRICK PROJECT sits at under 3,000 supporters on LEGO® Ideas, and it deserves more! It’s a full recreation of the indomitable Gaulish village, complete with Asterix, Obelix, and that famous banquet fire where the magic potion-fueled feasts never end. Yet, like the small village that defied Caesar, this build is holding out against the odds, hoping fans will rally before it’s too late.

The Last Gaul Standing
Asterix has already made one attempt at LEGO glory. The KyriakosBuilder version hit 10,000 votes last year, only to be rejected in review. A tough blow for the fandom, but not fatal. KyriakosBuilder is trying again and has already crossed 7,000 votes. BRICK PROJECT’s version, meanwhile, is still gathering its army.

The build features every essential corner of the village: Asterix’s hut, Cacofonix’s treehouse, Getafix’s cauldron, Obelix’s quarry, and Vitalstatistix’s home, all arranged around a curved banquet table with fire blazing at the center. There’s even Caesar’s tent and a Roman catapult for a little conflict, because what’s Asterix without Romans getting thrown skyward?

It’s detailed, playful, and modular. You can arrange it in a straight line or compact circle, just like a real Gaul would (if Gauls had Technic pins).

The Comic That Refuses to Die
While René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo may have passed, their world hasn’t. Didier Conrad continues the saga, and this fall brings the 41st album, “Asterix in Lusitania.” The timing is perfect, a new comic about Lusitania (modern Portugal) could spark a fresh wave of nostalgia and national pride across Europe.

That cultural heartbeat might just be what this project needs. LEGO has shown increasing appetite for nostalgia-rich IPs like LEGO® 21336 The Office and LEGO® 21330 Home Alone. So why not Asterix, a franchise older and arguably more pan-European than both?

A Call to Arms (or Gauls)
Asterix fans, the call is clear. If the Romans can’t break the village, the lack of votes shouldn’t either. This set is a piece of European pop culture rendered in plastic bricks.

Support it now on LEGO® Ideas for both KyriakosBuilder and BRICK PROJECT’s version, because the potion only works if everyone drinks it.
