This one started life as a fan submission. Builder Pidelium (Sébastian Esnault) entered his motorcycle design in the LEGO® Ideas '90s Throwback challenge, where it took the grand prize in its category. You can still admire the original winning entry on LEGO® Ideas, and comparing it with the finished set is half the fun. The part count nearly doubled on the way to production, with LEGO® designers Tom Gerardin and Ellen Bowley refining the model into its final form. We put the two side by side in our own brick-built tribute to the stop-motion legends, so you can judge for yourself which version deserves the Wensleydale.

The model recreates the motorcycle and sidecar as seen in A Close Shave, with both characters built at a generous scale to capture that unmistakable claymation charm. Wallace grins his toothy grin from the saddle, Gromit peers out of the sidecar behind oversized goggles, and a push along the table sets the wheels spinning. The finished display measures roughly 23 cm high, 23 cm long and 18 cm wide, so it fits on a shelf without needing one of Wallace's contraptions to hold it up.

What would a Wallace & Gromit build be without a few secrets? Tucked into the model you'll find a ball of wool, a pack of crackers and even a diamond, plus a hidden third character we won't spoil here. Esnault has explained that he deliberately chose the most rounded LEGO® elements available to mimic the smooth clay look, and it shows in every curve of that fuel tank.

At roughly 9.6 cents per piece, 21371 lands in reasonable territory for a licensed display set, and early community reaction has been warm, with plenty of fans calling it a day-one purchase. Whether you grew up with the films or just appreciate a beautifully sculpted motorcycle, this one earns its spot. So, what do you say? It's a great day for an adventure, isn't it?
