Grab your straw hat, builders. Netflix has released a full teaser trailer for its LEGO® One Piece two-part animated special, which premieres September 29th.

The special recaps the One Piece live-action series so far, and here is the clever twist: the whole story unfolds from Usopp's perspective. Who better to narrate a tall tale than the crew's resident teller of tall tales? The trailer promises the usual LEGO® style of humor, so expect plenty of winks to camera between the swashbuckling.
Best of all, the live-action cast reprises their roles for the voice work. Seeing the same faces (or should that be the same faces, now with studs?) carry over from screen to brick is a genuinely nice touch that ties the two projects together.

The animation comes from Atomic Cartoons, and the early footage looks sharp. If you have watched other LEGO® animated outings, you know how tricky it is to make stiff little bricks feel expressive, so this studio clearly knows its way around a minifigure. More details are up on the Netflix website now.
The special originally got its April announcement, and this trailer is the payoff for months of waiting. Will Luffy's rubbery stretch translate into brick-built comedy gold? You will find out on September 29th, so mark your calendars and ready your grog.
