Everyone's favourite marmalade-loving bear just hit the big time. Paddington, a brick-built tribute to the beloved 2014 Paddington film and its sequels, has reached the full 10,000 supporters on LEGO® Ideas and now sits in the official review stage. Designer Brickicist gave the treasured bear the large-scale display treatment he deserves, complete with his red hat, blue duffel coat, trusty suitcase, and (naturally) a marmalade sandwich.

Here is where the build gets genuinely clever. The top of Paddington's hat lifts off to reveal a spare marmalade sandwich tucked inside for emergencies (because a well-prepared bear never travels without a backup snack). The suitcase opens too, holding jars of marmalade, one nearly empty. Would you keep the last sandwich for yourself, or share it with the pigeons watching nearby?

The design does not stop at charming little secrets. Swap the hat sub-assembly for another, and you add the top of Paddington's head and his ears, with the hat then resting neatly atop the suitcase. Rotating neck, shoulder, and elbow joints let you pose the bear however you like, so there is no single right way to display him. That is the joy of it.

Paddington stands on a display base showing a slice of Windsor Gardens, the London street he shares with the Brown family. The base packs in a Victorian-style lamppost, an iron fence dressed with ivy, and two brick-built pigeons. Small pieces, big personality.

Brickicist has loved the Paddington films since they began and believes their warmth, humour, and cross-generational appeal make the character a perfect LEGO® subject. Having cleared the 10,000-supporter finish line, this Paddington project now waits for the LEGO® review board to decide its fate. Fingers crossed the marmalade holds out.
