Every dog has its day, and the Dachshund project on LEGO® Ideas is having a very good one. Designer FGyuri4 has captured the beloved sausage dog in brick form, long body, short legs, big personality and all. It has already fetched 2,126 supporters, and it is easy to see why so many builders came running.
The whole thing hinges (sometimes literally) on that unmistakable silhouette. You get a low-slung body stretched out like a fuzzy loaf, stubby little legs, and a face that could melt the coldest of hearts. Ever wondered how you build a soulful expression out of hard plastic? FGyuri4 leaned on cleverly angled slope pieces to recreate that classic puppy-dog look, and honestly, it works. You almost want to give it a treat.
Here is where things get playful. The tail and ears are posable, so you can pose your pup from curious to excited to full zoomies (well, as much as a stationary model can zoom). Fancy a tail that says "walkies?" You can angle it just so. Want the ears perked up for maximum alertness? Flick them into place. It is a smart bit of building that turns a display piece into a little character with moods of its own.
A self-described LEGO® and dog enthusiast, FGyuri4 wanted this brave, stubborn, wonderfully loyal breed to earn a spot on every fan's shelf. Whether you are a proud dachshund parent or simply an animal lover, this pup is designed to add charm to any home or office desk.

The goal, as with every LEGO® Ideas project, is 10,000 supporters, and this Dachshund still has plenty of ground to cover. Ready to help a good boy find his forever shelf?
