It’s Morphin’ Time LEGO® Megazord Joins the Starry Night Creator’s Legacy!

TrumanBricks, the fan designer behind the legendary LEGO® Starry Night set, has done it again. His latest masterpiece? The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord, the ultimate robot of 90s Saturday mornings. Submitted on November 18, 2024, the project hit the 10,000-support milestone faster than you can say “It’s Morphin’ Time!” And now, it’s officially approved to become a real LEGO® set next year.

There’s something ironic about an artist who once captured Van Gogh’s swirling skies now assembling roaring metal dinosaurs. But it just speaks about TrumanBricks' talent, that combine art and brick engineering.

Five Zords, One Legendary Build

The design pays glorious homage to the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord. Each Zord: the Mastodon, Pterodactyl, Triceratops, Saber-Tooth Tiger, and Tyrannosaurus, is fully transformable. You can separate them for individual play or combine them into the towering Dino Megazord, standing 35.6 cm tall and made from 1,225 pieces.

The head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles are posable, ready for heroic stances or battle-ready poses. It’s a masterclass in clever LEGO® building techniques.

The Megazord even wields its signature Power Sword and Mastodon Shield, because what’s a giant robot without accessories?

The Rangers Report for Duty

No Megazord is complete without its crew, the project includes five classic Power Rangers minifigures: Zack the Black Ranger, Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Billy the Blue Ranger, Trini the Yellow Ranger, and Jason the Red Ranger.

The prototype design shows them with custom head prints (since custom helmets aren’t allowed in Ideas submissions). But if LEGO®’s production team follows through, we might just see just some shiny new helmets.

Upgrades Worth Shouting About

Compared to earlier iterations, this Megazord packs some massive improvements. TrumanBricks rebalanced the proportions, especially around the waist and thighs, giving it a more 90s screen-accurate look. The neck, hips, and knees now move smoother, and the head features sharper detailing in the crest, eyes, and face.

The Zords have also had a tune-up: improved Pterodactyl wings, refined Mastodon head, and stronger T-Rex claws and legs.
